Silicon Supply Chain

DensityAI•Mountain View, CA
•$168,000 - $250,000

About The Position

Own the commercial relationship with the foundries, OSATs, and test partners that bring DensityAI's custom silicon to life. This role is the single commercial owner for the silicon commodity, from strategy and negotiation through capacity, cost, and supply continuity. The scope spans wafers through packaged and tested devices, bringing together custom-silicon economics, yield and test realities, and aggressive timelines. The role requires deep expertise in wafer agreements, assembly and test economics, and foundry capacity, as well as experience working directly with major industry partners. The successful candidate partners closely with engineering, program management, and leadership to align commercial strategy with technical execution and manage supply, cost, and program risk.

Requirements

  • First-hand experience managing the commercial relationship with a major logic foundry and at least one leading OSAT or test/ATE vendor.
  • Proven ownership of MSA/MPA/NDA/SOW negotiations with foundry, OSAT, and/or test partners.
  • Fluency in custom-silicon/ASIC economics, including how wafer pricing, yield, packaging, and test contribute to unit cost and which levers can change it.
  • Working command of technical drivers such as yields, test coverage, and qualification flows, and how they affect cost and commercial success.
  • An established network across the foundry/OSAT/test ecosystem.
  • Working understanding of advanced packaging, specifically CoWoS-L and CoWoS-R, and how packaging choices drive capacity, cost, and supply risk.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and pace; ability to bring structure to undefined situations and treat direction changes as opportunities.

Nice To Haves

  • Took a custom ASIC from tape-out through high-volume production, owning supply commercials end-to-end.
  • Background in custom silicon, hyperscale ASIC, or merchant/AI-silicon programs.
  • Hands-on experience with advanced packaging (2.5D/3D, CoWoS-L / CoWoS-R, chiplets, EMIB, substrate) and related OSAT/foundry capacity dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Own commercial relationships with foundries, OSATs (assembly and advanced packaging), and test/ATE vendors across the full silicon lifecycle.
  • Negotiate MSAs, MPAs/MPSAs, NDAs, SOWs, capacity and pricing agreements, and tooling/NRE terms, balancing cost, capacity, quality, and risk.
  • Forecast semiconductor commodity trends and capacity/pricing dynamics and use them to DensityAI's advantage.
  • Build and own the silicon cost model, including wafer cost, die-per-wafer and yield, packaging, test time/ATE, and NRE/mask, and use it to drive negotiations and design-for-cost decisions with engineering.
  • Secure capacity and supply continuity across nodes and packaging technologies by managing allocation risk, lead times, and second-source strategy in a constrained market.
  • Partner with engineering and program management across design, packaging, test, quality, and NPI to align commercial strategy and technical execution.
  • Translate technical realities such as yield ramps, test escapes, and qualification into cost, margin, and program-risk outcomes, and brief leadership clearly.

Benefits

  • Equity grant per company guidelines.
  • Medical insurance.
  • Dental insurance.
  • Vision insurance.
