About The Position

Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leaders in the Student Success Center support student learning by attending a targeted class, planning and facilitating out-of-class small group sessions covering the course content, and by assisting students in developing transferrable learning and study skills. SI Leaders will build professional relationships with faculty, students and other SI and Student Success Center staff and assist with SI Program implementation. This position will develop UA Career-Ready skills such as critical thinking, communication, leadership, teamwork, and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate student with completion of twelve credit hours at the University of Arkansas Fayetteville prior to job start
  • Demonstrated success with grade of A for course in which leader is assigned to lead
  • Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.25
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Demonstrated success with grade of A in more than one course for which SI is offered and leader may be assigned to lead

Responsibilities

  • Attend each meeting of the class associated with the SI session
  • Model proper student behavior and assist in class when requested
  • Write and submit a session plan on time each week
  • Conduct four 50-minute sessions per week
  • Attend weekly team meetings and participate in professional development
  • Attend pre-semester training
  • Complete all mandatory Blackboard tasks
