About The Position

SUNY Delhi seeks applications for energetic Cleaners to join the Custodial team. SUNY Delhi prides itself on being a welcoming college community for all. Cleaners perform a variety of routine manual tasks requiring light, medium, and heavy physical effort in cleaning and caring for an assigned area on campus. Areas include: Academic and office buildings, Athletic facilities, Student and community center, Student residence halls, Health center, and Adjacent grounds and sidewalks. Cleaners work independently, and as part of a work team, performing a wide range of specialized and routine cleaning activities such as: Stripping and polishing floors, Window washing, Vacuuming, Trash and recycling removal, and Dusting and cleaning walls. Work requires cleaning specialized areas within buildings such as; office spaces, kitchens, common areas, lounges, laundry rooms, locker rooms, classrooms, and laboratories. This job classification is non-supervisory.

Requirements

• Applicants must be physically able to perform medium to heavy physical labor.
• Must be able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of routine manual tasks requiring light, medium, and heavy physical effort in cleaning and caring for an assigned area on campus.
• Stripping and polishing floors
• Window washing
• Vacuuming
• Trash and recycling removal
• Dusting and cleaning walls
• Cleaning specialized areas within buildings such as; office spaces, kitchens, common areas, lounges, laundry rooms, locker rooms, classrooms, and laboratories.
