About The Position

The Shuttle Driver is responsible for the safe, courteous, and efficient operation of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) vehicle transporting guests between parking areas at the base of the mountain and Arizona Snowbowl Resort. This position combines strong technical driving skills with a genuine commitment to guest service, ensuring every passenger has a safe, comfortable, and positive experience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience (2 years).
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Passenger (P) Endorsement required.
  • No driver restrictions, suspensions, or revocations within the last 3 years.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid DOT medical card with an insurable driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) pre-employment drug test and adhere to ongoing random testing requirements.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal Transportation Regulations and CDL rules.
  • Skilled, safe operation of passenger buses and vans.
  • Effective communication with guests and staff.
  • Friendly, outgoing, and knowledgeable about Arizona Snowbowl's products and services.
  • Team player who stays calm under pressure and solves problems independently.
  • Must remain alert at all times for surrounding traffic and pedestrians; the busy, fast-paced environment can be stressful but must be handled with a smile.
  • Requires physical effort such as walking, lifting, bending, standing, reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and manual dexterity, including lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • May require assisting passengers with equipment and luggage.
  • Works onboard a moving vehicle and requires sitting for extended periods with constant arm, hand, and foot movement.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a CDL passenger bus or van, following all traffic regulations, DOT requirements, and Arizona Snowbowl policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a professional image at all times, emphasizing positive guest relations and hospitality.
  • Assist passengers as needed to find a seat, board and exit the vehicle safely, and load/unload equipment and luggage.
  • Perform required pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintain accurate logbooks, and report any defects to the Mountain Operations Director.
  • Possess a working understanding of basic vehicle and truck systems and the ability to operate vehicles ranging from vans to larger passenger buses.
  • Communicate effectively via two-way radio system with dispatch and other staff.
  • Subject to random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident FTA/DOT drug and alcohol testing.
  • Maintain good attendance and the ability to work nights, holidays, weekends, and in adverse weather conditions.
