About The Position

Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, the Truck Driver Class A is responsible for safely, efficiently, and effectively operating the company semi and related equipment. The Truck Driver Class A is a key component of our overall business success.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 25 years of age.
  • Must have a valid CDL-A license and have at least 2 years of experience driving a 53 ft. tractor trailer.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, plus overtime and weekends when required.
  • Must be available Monday through Friday; weekend work and overtime may also be required.
  • Requires a Class A CDL license.
  • Must be able to use a GPS.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to team leaders, managers, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Follow the guidelines of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), uniform and dress code, and product safety requirements.
  • Maintain departmental housekeeping standards, keeping work area clean and safe at all times.
  • Maintain a good attendance record and positive attitude.
  • Support company policies and be safety conscious at all times.
  • Report safety concerns and defective equipment to immediate supervisor.
  • Operate the semi in a safe manner in compliance with current DOT requirements.
  • Ensure that all related equipment meets DOT licensing requirements, such as DOT inspections.
  • Ensure that equipment is kept clean and presents a professional image.
  • Check oil and other fluid levels daily.
  • Maintain a Class A CDL license, as required by law.
  • Keep accurate records of fuel and fluid purchases, and miles driven by state.
  • Maintain DOT required records.
  • Work extended schedules as the needs of the business dictate.
  • Work in other areas as workload demands.
  • Other duties as assigned.
