About The Position

The Shuttle Driver is responsible for picking up and delivering parts, inter-office mail, attachments, and supplies while safely operating and maintaining company vehicles. The role serves remote locations and the parts distribution center, follows an established shuttle schedule, and communicates with store, parts, and parts distribution center personnel about deliveries, pickups, and discrepancies. The position also supports customer satisfaction through professional, efficient service and a positive attitude.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 6 months of related experience and a steady work record.
Ability to set work priorities and work independently in the absence of supervision.
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.
Ability to maintain motivation among team members and focus on providing a high level of customer satisfaction.
Ability to perform each essential job function satisfactorily.
Ability to meet health assessment requirements.
Ability to operate a vehicle and other equipment as necessary.

Responsibilities

Properly and safely load and unload the delivery vehicle at remote locations and the parts distribution center.
Confirm with parts personnel at each store what is to be loaded and unloaded, and inform the store of arrival and departure.
Check the condition of items being picked up or delivered and report irregularities to the parts manager or parts distribution center manager.
Adhere to the shuttle schedule while following safety rules, speed limits, procedures, and practices.
Communicate with parts and parts distribution center personnel about discrepancies or corrections to pickup and delivery documents.
Keep assigned vehicles in good condition and appearance, and report maintenance needs to the appropriate manager.
Maintain a safe working environment and follow the company safety program.
Help ensure customers are satisfied with products, services, and staff support; resolve concerns efficiently and effectively.
Promote a positive attitude, maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, demonstrate Birkey's customer service standards, and acknowledge clients and customers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
