About The Position

The US Foods CDL A Shuttle Driver operates tractor-trailers carrying products such as meats, produce, frozen foods, and dry goods between remote dispatch sites. The role focuses on safe, efficient transportation and may also involve backhaul or delivery work when needed. Drivers inspect equipment and freight, verify trailer temperatures, and perform other duties assigned by management. The position is based in Augusta, Georgia, and is scheduled Sunday through Thursday, starting at 9:00 p.m. and continuing until finish.

Requirements

• Register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Hold a valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence, with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications.
• Have at least 6 months of commercial driving experience.
• Be comfortable working overnight.
• Read and communicate in English, including conversing, understanding highway traffic signs and signals, responding to official inquiries, and entering information on reports and records.
• Meet the stated physical requirements, including repetitive handling of 20 to 80+ pounds of product, working in inclement weather with frequent stops, and working in temperatures as low as 0 degrees.

Nice To Haves

• Doubles endorsement is preferred; at least 6 months of driving with doubles endorsements is preferred.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission is preferred, though it may be required at specific locations.

Responsibilities

• Transport products between remote dispatch sites safely and efficiently.
