About The Position

We are seeking Shuttle Drivers to drive in Poughkeepsie, NY, providing shuttle services for Marist University. This posting is for a part-time fill-in driver to cover weekday evening shifts and/or Saturdays from 12pm-7:30pm, as well as other events on campus. Additional hours are available with Charters and other overtime work in the surrounding areas, including Windham Mountain and the Albany area, if desired. The vehicles are newer walk-on 25-passenger shuttles with wheelchair lifts that are cleaned and maintained regularly. Valet Park of America is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Requirements

Must be over 20 years of age due to insurance requirements
Customer service experience is a must
A valid license with a CDL with a passenger endorsement is required
A valid medical card is also required
Background checks, SORI checks, drug and driving tests will be conducted

Responsibilities

Greeting patrons in a polite manner and assisting them in any way we can
Safely shuttling customers to various destinations
Opening and closing doors for patrons
Adhering to all traffic laws/signs to ensure the safest possible operation of our shuttles
Communicating effectively with customers and co-workers. This includes radio contact with management, shuttle drivers, and lot attendants
Completing required pre-trip inspections to meet federal as well as company safety requirements
Recording passenger counts and trip times
Completing necessary paperwork involved in daily operations
Assisting in equipment set up and break down (i.e. signs, cones, etc.)
Sweeping shuttles and removing debris to ensure cleanliness
Filling in as a lot attendant when needed
Communicating mechanical problems with shuttles to management
Complying with company procedures for shuttle operations
Operate wheelchair lift as needed, and secure chairs with tie-downs as needed
