About The Position

Lone Star Paving is seeking an Asphalt Heavy Equipment Shuttle Buggy Operator to join their asphalt team. This role is crucial for distributing essential components for paving functions and requires familiarity with paving machines and asphalt paving operations. Requirements

  • 2-3 years' experience within the asphalt industry.
  • 1-2 years' experience operating paving equipment.
  • Must be organized with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Must be positive, friendly, and professional.
  • Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting.
  • Promote, execute, and adhere to the company's safety policy.
  • Work in a safe, responsible manner.
  • Maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
  • Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
  • Proper PPE is required at all times.

Nice To Haves

  • Heavy equipment experience is a plus.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maneuver, and drive the Shuttle Buggy.
  • Inspect equipment before and after operating to ensure it is in good working order.
  • Practice awareness of others working alongside the machines and exercise safety practices at all times.
  • Perform general laborer duties associated with asphalt paving, patching, or prep crews, including shoveling, raking, and handling tools and equipment.
  • Clean and organize equipment to company standards before the end of a shift.
  • Operate power tools as needed.
  • Demonstrate coordination and strength to safely use all equipment controls.
  • Remain stationary in the seat or operating area of the equipment for prolonged periods.
  • Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materials.
  • Assist in the placement, moving, and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones, and other traffic control devices.
  • Diagnose issues with equipment.
  • Interact with other workers on the jobsite.
  • Perform other duties as requested and assigned.
