This position involves coaching fundamentals in basketball, obtaining training from alternate resources like camps/clinics to expand abilities. The coach will manage practices, all aspects of contests, and all football activities while promoting individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship. This includes contacting schools to schedule games, gathering volunteers for contests, working with assistant coaches to delegate tasks, and networking for fundraising for the team’s needs. The coach will also manage staff or assistant coaches, trainers, equipment manager, etc., and maintain and secure all team equipment and uniforms. Collaboration with the athletic director is expected to maintain positive two-way communication with staff concerning student-athletes. The role requires developing and representing a culture that positively reflects the Sheridan community.
