About The Position

This position involves coaching high school wrestling, focusing on teaching fundamental skills and strategies, running effective practices, and coaching at tournaments. The coach will collaborate with other staff, communicate with parents, supervise students, and maintain sportsmanship. Responsibilities also include inventory management, supporting the booster club, and adhering to district policies and governing agency rules. The role requires participation in mandatory training to improve coaching performance and student safety.

Requirements

Wrestling coaching experience
Experience coaching in K-12 setting
Current First Aid Certification or the ability to get certified
Ability to work cooperatively and harmoniously as a team member
Ability to plan, organize, and work without close supervision
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with District personnel and the public
Ability to respect confidential information
Meet OSAA certification requirements
Successful applicant will be fingerprinted and background checked.

Responsibilities

Teach fundamental wrestling skills and strategies.
Run effective daily practices.
Coach at tournaments.
Cooperate and collaborate with other wrestling coaching staff to establish and implement the shared program philosophy, skills, and techniques.
Cooperate and communicate respectfully to parents.
Supervise bus trips and locker room, as well as, behavior at tournaments.
Maintain sportsmanship and respect to other teams, coaches, bus drivers, and community members.
Keep an accurate record of equipment and uniform inventory.
Cooperate in helping the booster club and other organizations that support the success of the athletics department.
Follow district policies and procedures.
Understand and follow rules and regulations set forth by all governing agencies: state association, school district and league.
Participate in training and other activities deemed mandatory by the district to improve coaching performance and enhance student health and safety.
Attend athletic department meetings, when required.
