About The Position

The Showroom Usher will be responsible for greeting and engaging with guests before, during, and after the show. This role involves checking and scanning tickets, welcoming guests, and directing them to their seating locations. The Usher will monitor seating sections to ensure an excellent guest experience, provide customer service, and observe guest behavior during the show, addressing issues such as unauthorized photography or disruptions. The position also requires handling guest complaints, escalating them as needed, and maintaining knowledge of the theater layout and show times. Additionally, the Usher will sweep the theater for lost and found items, enforce house rules, monitor guest entry and exit, and remain at their assigned post unless on break. A key responsibility includes understanding and assisting with emergency evacuation procedures.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Candidates must be a minimum of 21 years or older.
  • Must have a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Must have good conflict resolution skills.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail.
  • Must have excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to function in a stressful environment.
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter and a hard worker.
  • Must have the ability to multitask.
  • Must possess excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule (evenings, weekends).

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one year of showroom theater experience preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of customer service-related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and engage with guests before, during and after the show.
  • Check and scan tickets.
  • Welcome guests and direct them to their seating location.
  • Monitor each seating section to ensure our guests have an excellent experience.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Watch stations throughout the show to monitor guest behavior including taking pictures, recording or disrupting those around them.
  • Handle guest complaints and escalate as needed.
  • Be knowledgeable of theater layout and show times.
  • Visually sweep the theater at the end of the shows for lost and found items.
  • Be aware of and enforce appropriate house rules.
  • Monitor door and guest entry and exit.
  • Remain at assigned post throughout the show/event unless taking an assigned break.
  • Maintain a good understanding of evacuation procedures and be able to assist guests in an emergency evacuation situation.
