About The Position

Most "manager" jobs are assistant jobs with a better title. This one isn't. We're handing one person the keys to our Orlando showroom. You'll train shoulder to shoulder with company leadership for four months. Then it's yours: the sales floor, the inventory, the schedule, and a service technician who reports to you. Not assist. Not co-manage. Run it. GEM Supply is a family-owned janitorial and cleaning supply company that's been taking care of customers since 1930. Our Orlando megastore is where cleaning contractors, schools, property managers, restaurants, and facility teams come to shop products, see equipment run, and get their machines serviced. We're growing across Florida — Orlando, Tampa/Clearwater, Ocala, Jacksonville, and Miami — and we invest heavily in the people who make that growth happen. Requirements

2+ years in retail, showroom, counter sales, or store operations, with experience leading a shift, a team, or a location.
Comfort running a POS system and managing inventory and vendor orders.
A steady, professional manner.
Self-sufficiency: ability to work independently after training.
Ability to be on your feet most of the day.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

Jan/san, industrial, restaurant, or other B2B supply experience.
Experience training or supervising others.
Bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

Manage the sales floor: ensure walk-ins are greeted quickly, problems are solved on the spot, and quotes are provided the same day.
Oversee inventory: manage stock levels, place vendor orders, handle receiving, and maintain sharp displays.
Lead the team: build the weekly schedule and direct the in-house service technician.
Cultivate relationships: get to know top accounts by name.
Report to ownership weekly on sales, inventory needs, and areas needing attention to ensure the location is under control.
