About The Position

The Shot Blast & Paint Technician will work to efficiently and accurately blast and paint high pressure and acetylene cylinders. The technician is responsible for the care and respect of equipment and facilities, and maintaining good housekeeping standards throughout the facility.

Requirements

Ability to identify DOT cylinder specifications including cylinders that require special permits or exemptions.

Responsibilities

Know, understand and accurately follow all applicable SOP’s.
Meet all applicable efficiency requirements.
Correctly identify the various sizes and types of cylinders, valves, and gas services.
Ensure all stamped markings on the cylinder are legible.
Ensure that the gas service and customer acronyms are marked on all cylinders.
Ensure the proper valve is inserted correctly.
Efficiently move cylinders to the proper area, including palletizing or nesting as directed.
Ensure that hanging caps are properly placed on all cylinders moving to the paint line.
Hang cylinders on the line if they require paint service under the direction of the SBP Level 3.
Safely remove cylinders from the paint line.
Perform any other duties assigned.
