About The Position

Performs a variety of duties required to operate the service platforms in the Dining Services operations in a timely and efficient manner, including but not limited to; greeting and serving customers, processing meal cards and/or other cash register transactions, processing GET orders, and preparing and stocking needed supplies for all of the food court operations. Responsible for maintaining a clean, organized and neat work station, stocked as appropriate for the operation, and set up/tear down for the next meal/day operation. Responsible for the preparation of all designated areas as assigned, including but not limited to slicing, cooking and knowledge of operation of all equipment. Must follow all food handing, safety and sanitation policies and procedures. May be assigned to various or specific areas based on operational needs.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalency
  • Ability to effectively write and communicate in English
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to exert well paced mobility for periods of up to four (4) hours
  • Ability to lift equipment and supplies up to 40 pounds in weight
  • Ability to walk, bend, stoop, and use finger dexterity for periods up to 4 hours at a time
  • Ability to stand for up to four (4) hours at a time
  • Ability to visually differentiate colors for the purposes of food safety
  • Ability to work when exposed to wet floors, temperature extremes and loud noise
  • Ability to work independently with the appropriate amount of supervision
  • Ability to listen attentively and comprehend verbal instructions in English
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Nice To Haves

  • One year in a food preparation position
  • Experience in a high volume a la carte operation and proven customer service skills
  • Successful cash register experience
  • Experience with MICROS registers
  • Working knowledge of standard commercial kitchen equipment
  • Current managerial ServSafe certification
  • Demonstrates a professional demeanor
  • Successful experience assisting customers
  • Experience working with students and a diverse multi cultural staff
