About The Position

The Shop Welder B plays a critical role in fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal components and structures within a manufacturing or industrial setting. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a welder in a shop or industrial environment.
• Certification in welding from a recognized institution (e.g., AWS Certified Welder).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Knowledge of safety standards and practices related to welding operations.
• The required skills enable the Shop Welder B to accurately interpret technical drawings and execute precise welds that meet stringent quality standards.
• Proficiency in multiple welding techniques allows the welder to adapt to different project requirements and materials, ensuring versatility in daily tasks.
• Safety knowledge is essential to maintain a secure work environment and prevent accidents during welding operations.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with a variety of metals including stainless steel and carbon steel.
• Familiarity with welding inspection techniques and non-destructive testing methods.
• Additional certifications such as OSHA safety training or specialized welding processes.
• Experience and ability to pass a welding test in 3G for Flux core and SMAW (Stick welding).

Responsibilities

• Perform welding tasks using various methods such as Flux Core, TIG, and Stick welding to join metal parts according to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine welding requirements and sequence of operations.
• Inspect welded surfaces and structures to ensure compliance with quality standards and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
• Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in safe and working condition at all times.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to plan and prioritize welding projects to meet production deadlines.
