About The Position

Caterpillar Remanufacturing is seeking a Shop Technician II to support Reman Drivetrain in the West Fargo, ND facility. This role involves proficiently operating various tools and equipment for complex product assembly and disassembly. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to sustainable solutions and a circular economy within a team of industry leaders. The technician will work in an environment without close supervision and may be assigned duties for cross-training or supporting various shop areas.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 2 - 3 years job related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Previous hoist experience required.
  • Must possess ability to learn new tasks and be able to read/write and interpret standard work instructions.

  • Proficiently operate a variety of tools and equipment to assemble and disassemble product with advanced complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize various computer systems such as PinPoint, CRDL Production Systems and Teams Forms.
  • Perform basic and advanced assembly and disassembly operations.
  • Identify and accurately categorize wear patterns of parts.
  • Efficiently and effectively use hand tools, power tools, gauges, presses, torque measuring devices and/or other equipment to ensure conformance to quality specifications.
  • Safely use overhead cranes/hoists and/or electric pallet jacks to move parts in and out of area.
  • Assist in the development of new assembly and disassembly procedures.
  • Use precision measuring devices to effectively assemble and/or disassemble final product.
  • Train other technicians in various assembly and disassembly operations.
  • Assist in identifying issues and initiating corrective action processes.
  • Participate in the CI/PID Process.
  • Understand labeling and flow of work in progress.
  • Understand and follow SWI’s and daily Production Schedules.
  • Adhere to facility policies including attendance and company values.
  • Promote a culture based on our Values in Action.
  • Follow established facility safety policies, safe job procedures and hazardous risk assessments and using the proper Personal Protective equipment for the specific job being performed.
  • Work with a variety of employees throughout the day to effectively communicate needs and to perform job related tasks.
  • Serve as a positive role model and contribute to team effort by supporting all employees.
  • Ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Conduct business with the highest level of honesty and integrity.
  • Interface with plant management, supervisors and production personnel.

Benefits

  • Hourly Pay Range: $22.21 - $28.26
  • 2nd shift Work Hours: 4:15PM - 2:45AM
  • 2nd shift will receive an additional 7% night shift premium.
  • Monday - Thursday with occasional overtime on Fridays
  • 40-hour work weeks with potential for overtime
