Caterpillar currently has an opening for an Shop Technician II position supporting Reman Drivetrain located in the West Fargo, ND facility. The Shop Technician ll can proficiently operate a variety of tools and equipment to assemble and disassemble product with advanced complexity.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 2 - 3 years job related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Previous hoist experience required.
  • Must possess ability to learn new tasks and be able to read/write and interpret standard work instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize various computer systems such as PinPoint, CRDL Production Systems and Teams Forms.
  • Perform basic and advanced assembly and disassembly operations.
  • Identify and accurately categorize wear patterns of parts.
  • Efficiently and effectively use hand tools, power tools, gauges, presses, torque measuring devices and/or other equipment to ensure conformance to quality specifications.
  • Safely use overhead cranes/hoists and/or electric pallet jacks to move parts in and out of area.
  • Assist in the development of new assembly and disassembly procedures.
  • Use precision measuring devices to effectively assemble and/or disassemble final product.
  • Effectively train other techs in various assembly and disassembly operations.
  • Assist in identifying issues and initiating corrective action processes as necessary.
  • Participate in the CI/PID Process.
  • Understand labeling and flow of work in progress.
  • Understand and follow SWI’s and daily Production Schedules.
  • Adhere to facility policies to include good attendance and company values.
  • Work in an environment without close supervision.
  • Perform any duties or tasks that may be assigned to promote cross training or support for various areas of the shop.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Follow established facility safety policies, safe job procedures and hazardous risk assessments and using the proper Personal Protective equipment for the specific job being performed.
  • Work with a variety of employees throughout the day to effectively communicate needs and to perform job related tasks.

  • Ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Conduct business with the highest level of honesty and integrity.
  • Interface with plant management, supervisors and production personnel.

Benefits

  • Hourly Pay Range: $22.21 - $28.26
  • 2nd shift Work Hours: 4:15PM - 2:45AM
  • 2nd shift will receive an additional 7% night shift premium.
  • Monday - Thursday with occasional overtime on Fridays
  • 40-hour work weeks with potential for overtime
