About The Position

Linder Turf & Tractor is hiring a Shop Technician/Diesel Mechanic to repair agricultural machines, component assemblies, and parts in the shop and field. The work includes diagnosing equipment issues, planning and performing repairs, ordering parts, writing technical reports, completing warranty reports, caring for company assets, and communicating appropriately with others. The company has sold and serviced equipment since 1953 and began its turf and tractor division in 2018, which has grown to seven Kubota/Deutz Fahr branches in three states.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
An associate degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology, or four years of apprenticeship experience.
Technician classification is based on experience, knowledge, and competence.

Responsibilities

Repair equipment and components by developing a repair plan and sequence.
Determine the necessary parts, materials, and tooling for repairs.
Perform repairs safely and correctly, including quality-assurance testing of repaired components, systems, and machines.
Complete required reports legibly and promptly, including parts orders, special-tool usage, daily service reports, and work-order closure.
Communicate repair progress with the direct supervisor as required.
Retrieve and return parts and materials through the company’s parts-ordering system.
Retrieve and return special tools through the Tool Room and care for and properly use special tools and major shop equipment, including air compressors, cleaning tanks, overhead cranes, and jib cranes.
Use company vehicles, service trucks, and fuel cards properly.
Keep the work area and/or service vehicle safe and clean.
Maintain tools and tool carriers in a safe, productive, and updated manner.
Follow company policies and procedures and observe safety guidelines.
Perform other tasks as requested by the manager.
