About The Position

Crown Equipment Corporation, a global leader in lift truck manufacturing, is seeking a Shop Service Technician. This role involves examining, repairing, replacing, and recycling lift truck parts. The technician will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Crown and other makes of lift trucks, including rebuilding various components. Responsibilities also include performing safety operational tests, completing repair paperwork, conducting pre-delivery inspections and repairs on new equipment, and adding/removing attachments and accessories. The position may involve hydraulic or electrical adaptations and other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Read and know wiring diagrams, trouble shooting, use test meters, make decisions, basic math, reason, remember and analyze.
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions.
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours, walk for 1 hour, and sit for 1 hour per 10-hour shift.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, push/pull, reach above shoulder level.
  • Frequently lift/carry 0 to 50 lbs., and 51 to 100 lbs. with help.
  • Must be able to see, talk, hear, have good binocular vision, distinguish colors, and safely operate lift trucks.
  • Must be able to use common hand tools.
  • Possible exposure to hot and cold temperatures, dust, solvents, fuels, battery acid and noise pollution.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not provided.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years of prior service experience
  • Auto body and/or paint experience
  • Welding/fabrication experience

Responsibilities

  • Examine, repair, replace and recycle Crown lift truck parts.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Crown and all other makes of lift trucks.
  • Rebuild lift truck components such as electric motors (drive/pump/auxiliary), cylinders (tilt/lift/reach), brake systems, electrical systems, drive units, mast assemblies and frame weldments.
  • Perform safety operational tests.
  • Complete necessary repair paperwork.
  • Perform pre-delivery inspections and repairs to new equipment.
  • Make any necessary adjustments and handle warranty repairs.
  • Add/remove attachments and accessories such as clamps/slips, sheets/side shifts, lights and audible devices as required.
  • Handle any hydraulic or electrical adaptations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
