The Shop Service Technician II is responsible for conducting all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations. This role requires attending and successfully completing required technician training classes, maintaining a high awareness of applicable technical changes in the industry, and possessing a necessary set of tools for job performance. The technician will diagnose and perform designated repairs on customer or company-owned equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs. They are expected to work in a neat and orderly fashion, continuously seeking improvements in work methods, the work area, and safety standards. A key aspect of the role involves inspecting components to maximize parts reuse for cost control and completing required documentation using appropriate software to record repairs and track time. The technician must monitor job expenses against repair estimates, alerting the supervisor to any potential cost overruns before job completion. Additionally, the role emphasizes approaching work positively, maintaining supportive conduct within the team, contributing to team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while upholding safety and quality expectations, and training or mentoring others in the department. Other duties as assigned will also be part of the role.
