The Shop Service Technician II is responsible for conducting all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations. This role requires wearing proper personal protective equipment and attending/completing required technician training classes. The technician must maintain a high awareness of applicable technical changes in the industry and possess a necessary set of tools for diagnosing, disassembling, and assembling components to manufacturer's specifications. Key duties include diagnosing and performing designated repairs on customer or company-owned equipment, encompassing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs. The technician is expected to work in a neat and orderly fashion, continuously seeking improvements in work methods, the work area, and safety standards. They will inspect components to maximize parts reuse for cost control, complete required documentation using appropriate software, and monitor job expenses against repair estimates, alerting supervisors to potential cost overruns. A positive approach to work and supportive conduct towards the team are essential, contributing to team efforts by completing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations. The role may also involve training and mentoring others and performing other assigned duties.
