This mechanic position is responsible for performing inspections, diagnoses, and repairs of diesel-powered heavy equipment and/or related equipment or components, following established procedures and guidelines. Can work independently or as a member of a team to provide mechanical services that satisfies customer needs and achieves departmental goals. Mid-level position – Generally has more than four years of experience and/or demonstrated job relevant knowledge/skills. A Level III Technician has moderate knowledge of the field’s standard and technical concepts, practices, and procedures. Level III Technician performs a variety of standard, complex, and technical tasks; is indirectly supervised and self-starting; often a team member on a large project.
