About The Position

Fairbank is a leading supplier of Agriculture and Propane parts and equipment, with 14 locations throughout the Midwest and Northwest. Fairbank has done "Whatever It Takes" to provide exceptional service and product knowledge to our loyal customers for over 75 years. We are seeking a motivated Shop / Service Field Technician at our branch in Wichita, Kansas. This position will report directly to the Shop Manager. Responsibilities This position requires a technician who will participate in hands on physical labor in the day-to-day activities of the shop. Hands on experience with mechanics, electronics, welding, and fabrication to custom build sprayers. Repair/rebuild fertilizer equipment including centrifugal, transfer, roller, & diaphragm pumps. Service dry applicator equipment, belt loaders, pull behind tenders & spreaders. Plumbing and fabrication on mixing trailers. Installation and troubleshooting flow control / GPS (Raven) systems. Maintain superior customer relations and ensure quality work is performed to customers’ expectations. Review all paperwork and work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing.

Requirements

  • Knowledge or skills in the welding field preferred
  • Preferably the candidate will have prior work experience reading and working with electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Must be self motivated and have basic computer skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously, multi-task, organize and prioritize work.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 40 plus lbs safely and easily.
  • Ability to maintain / promote safety awareness and follow safety policies.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance.
  • High School degree or GED required
  • 3 + years’ experience in Shop / Service Department operations

Nice To Haves

  • Previous use of diagnostic tools is a plus but not required.
  • Previous Forklift operations preferred.
