About The Position

Mid-Atlantic Truck & Equipment is hiring a dependable, self-motivated Shop Porter to keep its shop, parts areas, and facility grounds clean, organized, and ready for the team. This hands-on role includes working indoors and outdoors and supporting technicians, warehouse staff, customers, and the overall operation. The employer is willing to train the right person.

Requirements

• Dependable team player with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, work indoors and outdoors, and manage varied responsibilities.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to safely perform the essential job functions and communicate effectively.

Nice To Haves

• Background in custodial, janitorial, facility maintenance, or other hands-on work.
• Forklift certification, or willingness to obtain it; training and certification will be provided.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Keep the facility clean and safe by sweeping shop floors, emptying trash, cleaning bathrooms, washing windows, and clearing debris from work areas.
• Support shop and warehouse teams with hands-on tasks, including loading and dumping forklift hoppers, cleaning equipment, organizing technician bays, and helping wherever needed.
• Maintain grounds and outdoor areas by mowing, weed trimming, spraying weed killer, and keeping the property clean and well maintained.
• Perform basic facility upkeep, including changing light bulbs, touch-up painting, and other minor maintenance tasks.
• Operate a forklift and company vehicle to move materials and equipment and make local parts pickups.
• Keep cleaning supplies stocked and organized.
• Provide helpful support to customers, technicians, warehouse staff, and other team members.
• Follow safety procedures and instructions, communicate with customers and team members, and complete required job-related documentation.
