About The Position

Classic Collision is hiring a Shop Porter to support daily operations at its auto body shop. The role includes housekeeping and upkeep of the front office, production area, parking lots, and grounds; assisting the detail department when needed; and performing minor equipment or building maintenance and repairs. The Shop Porter also drives company vehicles for errands or parts pickup and drives customer vehicles for pickup and delivery. The position helps protect vehicles from inclement weather and keeps vehicles and their keys secure. Pay is $17–$22 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Strong communication skills to communicate effectively with the Classic Collision team and customers.
Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
Ability to use hands and to talk and hear.
Ability to stand, sit, and walk, occasionally for long periods.
May occasionally need to reach with hands and arms and move objects up to 20 pounds.
Close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of assigned work.

Responsibilities

Maintain daily housekeeping in the front office, including emptying garbage cans, cleaning floors, and dusting.
Help in the detail department when needed.
Maintain daily housekeeping in the production area, including emptying waste cans, sweeping floors, disposing of unwanted parts, assisting with spray booth cleaning, and returning tools and equipment to their proper locations.
Drive company vehicles for shop errands or parts pickup, and drive customer vehicles for pickup and delivery.
Keep parking lots and grounds neat and orderly.
Perform minor equipment and building maintenance or repairs when necessary.
Ensure cars are protected from inclement weather.
Secure vehicles and keep vehicle keys separate and secure.
Perform other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business.
