About The Position

Under the direction of the shop supervisor or working shop foreman, the oiler is primarily responsible to properly lubricate, service, and maintain oil and antifreeze levels for equipment and machinery in an efficient and safe manner. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, fueling and oiling equipment, managing parts inventory, and assisting in maintenance shops. The position requires a commitment to safety, the ability to work in a team environment, and the capacity to follow instructions. A significant portion of the work is performed in a shop setting, with some field/road call work also expected.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Ability to work long hours.
  • Ability to move 50 pounds.
  • Basic knowledge of lubrication and construction equipment preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervision, follow instructions, and understand safety requirements.
  • Ability to hear sounds and recognize differences between them as well as focus on one source of sound and ignore others.
  • Maintain insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, fuel, and oil equipment.
  • Perform parts inventory, and ordering duties.
  • Maintain up to date lubrication and maintenance records.
  • Assist in the maintenance shops as needed.
  • Operate Forklift.
  • Maintain tools as required to perform job.
  • Maintain insurable driving record.
  • Ensure a safe and healthful work environment by keeping assigned area clean from trash and debris at all times.
