About The Position

The Shop Manager leads all rental, production and facility operations at the Erlanger-based location, ensuring seamless coordination across teams to drive efficient and profitable outcomes. This role plays a key part in getting gear where it needs to be, when it needs to be there, managing high-performing teams, aligning operational excellence with company goals, and supporting project delivery. Success in this role requires strong leadership, organization and a strong connection to the local entertainment technician community.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, or related field; equivalent work experience may be considered in place of a degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in operations management, preferably within the live events, production, or equipment rental industry
  • Knowledge of theatrical and/or entertainment lighting systems, including the ability to identify, handle, and troubleshoot common production lighting equipment
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; eligible to operate company vehicles for deliveries and pickups
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card and meet Department of Transportation requirements for operating a commercial motor vehicle
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds during warehouse and on-site production tasks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams’ supervisors, and clients in both warehouse and field settings
  • Ability to give detailed instructions, work independently or within a team, and adapt to shifting priorities and job environments

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with basic hand tools, power tools, and a commitment to maintaining safety standards in production or warehouse settings is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all shop operations, including process efficiency and asset management, to ensure operational excellence
  • Leads, manages, and holds warehouse labor accountable for performance, productivity, and adherence to company standards
  • Monitors the financial performance of regional operations and implements strategies & efficiencies to support profitability and cost control
  • Ensures that all equipment and assets are properly maintained, pulled, delivered and stored according to project and safety requirements
  • Collaborates with Manager, Project Labor Coordination to schedule labor for warehouse operations to meet project timelines and resource needs
  • Supports facility operations, including building maintenance, IT coordination, and resolution of operational issues
  • Manages the regional vehicle fleet, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, and oversees vehicle safety, maintenance, and documentation
  • Collaborates with other Shop Managers across the organization to share best practices and drive consistent results
  • Manages all inbound & outbound shipments for the local facility
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization in the warehouse and job site environments, to promote safety and operational efficiency
  • Coordinates with subrental partners and third-party logistics providers to fulfill project requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational success
