About The Position

Keller is the leading geotechnical specialty design build contractor in North America with offices located throughout the United States, Canada and abroad. Keller’s design engineers, in collaboration with other team members, develop innovative, practical, and cost-effective solutions to challenging construction projects for our customers daily. We are currently seeking a Shop Manager to work in our Tampa, FL location. The Shop Manager is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations within the shop, yard and warehouse while maintaining detailed records, coordinating resources and maintenance activity. Manage and interact closely with shop personnel as well as field and office management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Shop Management.
  • Experience with various heavy construction equipment.
  • 30 Hour OSHA, First Aid/CPR certified and Rigging, Signaling.
  • Computer skills using MS word, excel, and outlook preferred.
  • Interpersonal, oral and written communication skills needed.
  • Must be willing to travel regionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Grouting experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure equipment is available and ready to support operational and project demands.
  • Effectively schedule, direct, and monitor all necessary maintenance and repair of internal and fleet equipment to maximize effective utilization by tracking inventory to ensure compliance with Corporate and manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Provide technical information concerning equipment use & limitations in support of all field operations
  • Attend and participate in Division scheduling & mobilization meetings.
  • Maintain company systems, policies, and procedures as well as develop systems to ensure operational satisfaction that meets established budgets.
  • Analyzes targets and goals based on shop costs in coordination with Operations and shop personnel.
  • Tracks resources and minimizes overhead costs where available.
  • Ensures all employees are in compliance with all Keller and OSHA safety requirements.
  • In the event of a safety incident, works in partnership with HSEQ to support employees per Keller policy.
  • Logs all quality nonconformance issues and works with management for resolution.
  • Conducts daily safety meetings with crews and discusses job hazard analysis.
  • Collects and reviews equipment inspection sheets.
  • Manage, schedule, and oversee all shop and field mechanics.
  • Hire, train and evaluate shop employees.
