About The Position

TruGreen Metal is a mobile scrap metal recycling company that brings the recycling facility to the customer. Since 2015, TruGreen has served thousands of customers across Saskatchewan, Alberta, Western Manitoba, and Northern BC, recycling over 950 million pounds of steel products. TruGreen Metal is growing and seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join their team as a Shop Hand. This full-time position is based in Olds, Alberta.

Requirements

• Positive attitude

• Class 1A licence with clean abstract
• Ability to perform physically demanding duties. Able to lift 50lbs or more
• High degree of respect for equipment and safe work practices.

• A team player who is willing to help when and where it is required.
• Able to adapt to change.
• Use problem solving skills while using good judgement.
• Have and maintain a valid Class 1 drivers license with a clean drivers abstract.
• Successfully complete pre-employment screening including drug and alcohol testing.
• Successfully complete a background check.
• Work Full Time Monday to Friday, and may be called upon to work occasional evenings and weekends.
• Applicants must have legal authorization to work in Canada with no restrictions.
• All positions require background screening. Field positions require a clean driver’s abstract, criminal record check, and drug and alcohol testing to comply with regulations.

• Heavy equipment experience is considered an asset.
• Mechanical aptitude is considered an asset.
• Welding experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and washing all types of equipment in a heavy-duty mechanical shop atmosphere.
• Shunting trucks, trailers, and equipment when required.
• Making parts runs when required.
• Occasional slip seat driving if needed in the field.
