About The Position

Cascade Engineering Technologies is an aerospace company specializing in metrology-based machining of titanium and Inconel castings, Inconel forgings, and aluminum components for commercial and defense sectors. The Shop Assistant performs daily cleaning and minor maintenance of CNC machines and general maintenance of the CNC machine shop. The role also involves moving raw materials and other items with a forklift. The position is full-time, located in Canby, Oregon, with a weekend day schedule of Friday through Sunday, 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Pay is $20–$26 per hour plus an 11% differential.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Desire to acquire knowledge of CNC machinery repairs and maintenance.
Ability to operate a forklift.
Ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to prioritize duties effectively and work independently.
Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Maintain chip removal and recycling from CNC machines.
Clean CNC machines and remove metal chips.
Maintain coolant and oil levels on CNC machines daily.
Maintain the CNC machine shop area daily.
Transport goods and products between buildings.
Assist with unloading incoming shipments.
Suggest improvements to increase productivity, improve quality, and reduce costs.
Perform janitorial duties.
Perform other duties as required.
