About The Position

Decker Truck Line is seeking a Shop Assistant for their Bessemer terminal, offering a first shift schedule from 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• Previous directly related experience a plus
• Organized and good time management skills
• Excellent communication skills required
• Ability to lift up to 100lbs
• Drivers license required
• Post job offer physical and drug screen required

Responsibilities

• Lot checks to include trailer/equipment management reporting
• Daily check on company/driver vehicles
• Parts pickup and stocking
• Assist with Driver rides around town as needed
• Maintenance facility cleaning includes minor facility maintenance and outside lot
• Washing and detailing tractors, trailers, and company equipment
• Equipment inventory checks
• Assist technicians with duties to include mounting and dismounting of tires
• Miscellaneous shop duties
• Other duties as assigned
