About The Position

Boart Longyear is seeking a Mechanic to join its team in Salt Lake City, Utah. The role repairs and services the company’s light vehicles, drill rigs, and support equipment in shop and field settings. The mechanic troubleshoots and diagnoses failures in hydraulic, electrical, and power train components, using electronic tools, schematics, and other diagnostic methods. The position also requires communicating equipment condition, repair status, and recommendations to management and operations personnel.

Requirements

At least 5 years of directly related experience.
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Current, valid driver’s license.
Possess or have the ability to obtain a CDL.
Ability to read, understand, and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics.
Knowledge of high-pressure air systems, such as screw compressors and boosters.
Knowledge of duplex and triplex mud systems.

Nice To Haves

At least 3 years of hydraulic systems experience.
At least 3 years of electrical systems experience, including 12V and 24V systems.

Responsibilities

Repair and maintain equipment and components in shop and field settings.
Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and failures.
Perform routine equipment maintenance and complete work with quick turnaround and little to no errors.
Maintain company equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
Work safely and comply with applicable safety policies, company policies, standards, and procedures.
Maintain professional relationships and support field operations personnel.
Communicate the scope and progress of assigned jobs to Operations and Maintenance personnel.
Own and maintain required personal tools.
Travel to jobsites as needed.
Work in adverse weather conditions.
Provide on-the-job training to new team members as assigned.
Maintain current MSHA/OSHA certification.
Work within and promote corporate vision and values.
Perform other duties as assigned.
