About The Position
Hutco Inc. is now accepting applications for Laborers for a shipyard located in Hahnville, LA. This is a long-term work opportunity with lots of hours available. No TWIC card or per diem is available.
Requirements
- Performs following tasks in shipyards
Nice To Haves
- NO twic card required.
Responsibilities
- Loads vehicles, using hand truck or dolly.
- Washes trucks and other vehicles.
- Cleans ships, piers, drydocks, and other working areas, using broom and water hose.
- Opens shipping crates, using hammer and pinch bar.
- Sorts lumber, metals, and other scrap materials.
- Collects and burns trash.
- Mixes and pours cement on inner bottoms of ships and around joints on decks to prepare surfaces for tile or to make joints watertight.
- Removes paint and scale from ships’ metal surfaces, using hand or powered wire brushes.
- Conveys materials and tools to work site.
