About The Position

Shipyard Foreman Qualifications : High School or GED diploma preferred. Previous experience in a foreman, superintendent, or similar role preferred. Minimum of five years of new construction shipyard experience preferred. Valid State Driver’s License. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Promotes, executes, and adheres to the company’s health, safety, and environmental program. Leads and directs crew on their respective tasks. Delegates projects to personnel for fabrication. Familiar with USCG, ABS, and other regulatory body requirements. Works with managers to assure work is consistent with bid procedures, equipment and manpower. Responsible for keeping production on schedule and on budget while meeting quality requirements. Provides updates to project managers on project progress. Communicates to project manager any material and consumable shortages. Reads blueprints to determine what fabrication processes are required for projects. Communicate with employees to explain blueprints and assembly process. Redline drawings as needed for incorporation into as-built drawings. Inspects the quality of all fabrication work in progress and upon completion. Attend meetings and training as necessary.
