About The Position

The Shipping Zone Coordinator will help ensure the safe, accurate, and timely shipping of customer Sales Orders. Additionally, the Zone Coordinator is charged with promoting and maintaining adherence to written work instructions and processes. The position seeks excellence in their daily operations through a sense of pride and ownership in the overall performance (accuracy, safety, efficiency) of their designated work zone. This Shipping Zone Coordinator maintains composure under pressure, adjusts to changes in workload/priorities/team dynamics, and motivates those around them through a positive and professional attitude.

Requirements

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED.
  • 9 months of fulfillment experience is required.
  • Proficient in multiple channels within the Magpul Shipping department.
  • Experience with tier 2 ERP systems, specifically Microsoft Dynamics AX or D365, is required.
  • Proficient in adherence to written processes. Uses checklists, work instructions, and visual controls consistently.
  • Basic Microsoft Office experience required; ability to learn new software.
  • Must be able to use a handheld computer with accuracy.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
  • Able to work in a team environment with enthusiasm, cooperation, and a positive attitude.
  • Treats every team member with dignity, humility, and respect, even under pressure.
  • Seeks help when they are unsure or not clear on a process, answer, or directive. Invites input from others and acknowledges good ideas.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and perform all shipping functions within the designated zone.
  • Reinforce training within the designated zone in accordance with established work instructions and checklists. Identify and report to leadership any non-conformance.
  • Reviews and reports zone productivity daily. Ensures that work is completed in a timely manner.
  • Serve as a general point of contact for team members working within the zone and escalate issues to shipping department Leadership as appropriate.
  • Interact with customer shipping systems (Amazon vendor portal, freight carriers, etc.).
  • Communicate with Sales department personnel regarding order status.
  • Complete and perform shipping functions in the Magpul ERP system and assist workers within the zone with general questions and accuracy.
  • Participate in mentoring activities with team members to promote continual learning and growth within the Shipping department.
  • Ensure warehouse equipment (powered material handling, racking, scales, scan guns, etc.) are utilized appropriately and in working order. Report any equipment issues to Shipping leadership.
  • Ensures assigned zone is clean, orderly, and safe. Maintains assigned zone without reminders.
  • Reports any safety issues or concerns to the shipping department leadership.
  • Recommends process improvements to shipping leadership.
  • Must be able to achieve and seek process improvement opportunities to exceed productivity and accuracy standards daily.
  • Process, pack, and ship orders based on packing lists or shipping instructions.
  • Act as a champion for Magpul Lean initiatives, including (but not limited to), 5S, quality at the source, process control, and pull systems.
  • Maintains a high level of attention to detail, data integrity, and overall accuracy.
  • Ability to operate common warehouse equipment (pallet jack, scale, etc.) and role-applicable powered warehouse equipment (WAVE, order picker, reach truck, etc.).
  • Ability to work in a warehouse and manufacturing environment (temperature changes, dust, equipment, etc.).
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Able to bend, pull, push, and lift for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to work overtime when required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
