About The Position

The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all outbound shipping operations within the plant, ensuring finished goods are processed, documented, and dispatched accurately and on time. This role coordinates daily activities through the Shipping Team Leader, maintains compliance with customer and regulatory requirements, and ensures efficient flow from production to customer delivery. The role also supports Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts and ensures compliance with Corporate Governance initiatives. The position is accountable to the Shipping Assistant Manager.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field or 3-5 years equivalent experience in shipping/logistics, preferably in automotive manufacturing
  • 3–5+ years of experience in shipping/logistics, preferably in automotive manufacturing
  • Forklift experience/certification required or ability to obtain
  • Experience supervising or coordinating teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with EDI, ASN processes, ERP or warehouse management systems
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Experience in transportation coordination
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods (8-12hrs)
  • Lift up to 75 lbs. regularly
  • Perform repetitive movements (bending, reaching, lifting)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of shipping, warehouse, and logistics processes.
  • Experience with ERP/WMS systems and shipping documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and process adherence
  • Strong knowledge of shipping, logistics, inventory flow, and warehouse operations

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all outbound shipping operations within the plant.
  • Ensure finished goods are processed, documented, and dispatched accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate daily activities through the Shipping Team Leader.
  • Maintain compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure efficient flow from production to customer delivery.
  • Support Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts and ensure activities are carried out in cooperation with G-TEKT CSR, and Corporate Governance initiatives.
  • Support the Corporate Governance Policy of Austin Tri-Hawk Automotive.
  • Lead and support Shipping Team Leader and shipping associates with clear direction and expectations.
  • Hold the Team Leader accountable.
  • Negotiate priorities with production supervisors.
  • Solve problems and make decisions under pressure.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members to improve performance.

  • Respond quickly to delivery risks, shortages, or premium freight situations.
  • Communicate effectively with all departments and associates.
  • Support customer-specific requirements (labeling, ASN accuracy, packaging standards).
  • Ensure facility safety and forklift safety around all associates.
  • Assist in maintaining physical inventory accuracy.
  • Comply with all OSHA forklift regulations.
  • Support ISO-9001 / ISO-14001 requirements.
  • Provide proactive communication with customers, carriers, and internal teams regarding shipment status, risks, and resolutions.
  • Quickly assess and resolve shipping issues to minimize disruptions.
  • Build strong working relationships and maintain a high level of responsiveness and professionalism.
  • Anticipate potential delays and implement contingency plans to protect service levels.
  • Manage workflow, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Lead daily activities including staging, loading, and documentation.
  • Ensure accuracy of shipments, including part numbers, quantities, labels, and paperwork.
  • Manage transport of production between manufacturing teams.
  • Ensure compliance with FIFO, inventory control, and material handling.
  • Ensure timely disposal of scrap materials and facilitate trailer changes.
  • Participate in keeping the area near and around the trash compactor clean.
  • Enforce 5S within the shipping and dock area.
  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate multiple shipments in a (JIT/JIS) environment.
  • Ensure accuracy in documentation, labeling, and regulatory compliance.
  • Use data and KPIs to monitor performance, identify inefficiencies, and drive process improvements.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Shipping Managers.
