About The Position

At Martin Sprocket & Gear, we’re dedicated to producing quality mechanical power transmission components, material handling systems, and custom forgings with excellence. We are looking for skilled Shipping/Warehouse Associates to join our team. This role involves accurately selecting and verifying products, packing them for shipment, and operating warehouse equipment. The ideal candidate will have basic math and communication skills, the physical capability to handle items up to 50 lbs, and a commitment to reliability and safety. You will work in a non-climate-controlled environment and collaborate with other departments as needed.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in basic math and clear communication; able to read and understand instructions in English and complete simple logs and reports.
  • Able to lift, push, pull, and position items up to 50 lbs (with assistance provided for heavier loads).
  • Reliable attendance and commitment to scheduled hours, adhering to timekeeping and other company procedures.
  • Comfortable standing and working in a non-climate-controlled environment for the entire shift.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Attentive to detail, capable of determining correct shelf locations based on routing tickets.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of warehouse functions and general mechanical knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately locate and select products from warehouse shelves or floor locations, following labeling or stamping guidelines.
  • Verify picked and packed items against order requirements to ensure accuracy.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare various machined products for shipment, including boxing, labeling, and securing items.
  • Operate powered narrow-aisle pickers safely and efficiently to retrieve products from different shelf heights.
  • Practice safe lifting techniques and seek assistance for items over 50 lbs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and operate equipment following safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with other departments or assist in different areas as needed to support overall operations.
