About The Position

Audubon Metals is seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Shipping Utility to assist with shipping and receiving tasks, process shipments accurately and on time, and maintain an organized warehouse. The role supports the shipping department and the company’s commitment to customer service. It has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and take an innovative or creative approach to the job.
• Ability to read, write legibly, and communicate information effectively.
• Active listening skills, including understanding others, asking questions as appropriate, and avoiding inappropriate interruptions.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to remain visually alert to surroundings in the department.
• Critical-thinking skills, including using logic and reasoning to evaluate solutions and approaches to problems.
• Visual acuity sufficient to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in hot or cold environments.
• Ability to lift or move up to 100 pounds and frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials.
• Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, squat, sit, balance, twist at the waist and neck, and crouch during the shift.
• Ability to follow repetitive work procedures.
• Ability to work for the duration of a shift in loud, dusty, hot, cold, or humid environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing shipments by verifying and packing products according to established procedures and guidelines.
• Label and document shipments accurately using appropriate documentation.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure shipments meet required specifications and match packing lists.
• Collaborate with team members to support efficient workflow and timely shipment processing.
• Ensure products are stored securely and appropriately.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area while following safety guidelines and practices.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to shipping and receiving.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
