About The Position

The Shipping Technician reports to the Shipping Manager and performs duties related to receiving purchased and incoming products and shipping finished products to customers. The position involves warehouse work, operating forklifts and order pickers, preparing customer shipments, maintaining shipping and receiving orders, entering data, preparing bills of lading, and assisting with year-end physical inventory.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Computer experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to follow internal and customer instructions.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and with little or no supervision.
• Ability to operate a fork truck, hand equipment, and power lift equipment.
• Ability to perform warehouse tasks including standing, bending, reaching, squatting, walking, and lifting up to 55 pounds.
• Ability to wear fall-harness protection and work at heights of 16 feet or less.

Nice To Haves

• Previous shipping and/or computer experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts and load and unload trucks as required.
• Work with and maintain shipping and receiving orders and instructions.
• Operate order pickers.
• Pull production product and prepare shipments according to customer instructions, including address labeling, scanning, and shrink wrapping.
• Enter data using CMI, Excel, and Word.
• Prepare bills of lading.
• Assist with year-end physical inventory and tagging.
