About The Position

The Shipping Team Lead will be responsible for leading and supporting team members in adhering to safety and quality practices. This role involves coordinating the staging, sequencing, and loading of finished products for customer deliveries, assigning work priorities, and providing guidance to meet operational goals. The Team Lead will monitor workflow and equipment utilization, train and coach team members, and operate material handling equipment. Key responsibilities also include ensuring accurate inbound receiving and inventory transactions, conducting quality checks, utilizing warehouse systems for inventory accuracy and documentation, investigating and resolving discrepancies, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Collaboration with production, logistics, and warehouse leadership is essential to support customer delivery requirements. The role also involves communicating performance expectations, providing feedback, assisting with performance monitoring, attendance tracking, and shift handoff communications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED certificate
  • Minimum of 2 years of forklift experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications
  • Ability to read and interpret regulations and policies in accordance with Company guidelines.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with other departments and customers.
  • Ability to work flexible hours depending upon the needs of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support each team member’s adherence to safe work practices and Company’s safety policies as well as all quality practices and initiatives.
  • Coordinate the staging, sequencing, and loading of finished products for customer deliveries and route departures.
  • Assign work priorities and provide guidance to team members to meet operational goals.
  • Monitor workflow and equipment utilization to maximize efficiency.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members on procedures, equipment operation, and safety practices.
  • Operate and oversee the use of material handling equipment.
  • Ensure accurate inbound receiving, inventory transactions, and product movement throughout the facility.
  • Conduct quality checks and verify product accuracy prior to shipment.
  • Utilize RF scanners, AS400, and other warehouse systems to maintain inventory accuracy and shipping documentation.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, inventory issues, and operational challenges.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with production, logistics, and warehouse leadership to support customer delivery requirements.
  • Communicate performance expectations and provide regular feedback to team members.
  • Assist with performance monitoring, attendance tracking, and shift handoff communications.
