About The Position

S&S Activewear is seeking a part-time Shipping Team Lead to support the shipping manager or supervisor and work directly with the shipping team. The Team Lead ensures employees follow procedures, communicates goals and safety practices, and provides ongoing guidance and support as employees complete action plans. The role provides guidance and direct feedback to team members, ensures processes are followed, addresses errors promptly, assists with employee training, and helps maintain the Distribution Center. Employees must also adhere to and enforce the guidelines in the S&S Activewear Employee Handbook.

The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 a.m.–8:30 p.m. Compensation is $23.43 per hour. The role is based entirely in a warehouse, with conditions ranging from warm to cool and a moderate level of noise around warehouse machinery and equipment. The position requires standing and walking for an 8+ hour shift and frequent handling and movement of items up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read and speak English.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment and machinery.
• Must be comfortable using electronic devices.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Basic math skills, including the ability to count, add, and subtract quickly and accurately.
• Ability to identify colors, sizes, quantities, labels, and SKU information.
• Must be flexible with changing start and departure times.
• Ability to work overtime when needed.
• Ability to work independently without close supervision.
• Must be able to wear required safety equipment when applicable.
• Must be able to stand and walk for an 8+ hour shift and frequently lift, carry, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and handle items up to 50 pounds.
• Moderate hand-eye coordination, near vision, far vision, and hearing are required to operate warehouse machinery.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the leadership team on process improvements and provide support throughout the Distribution Center.
• Monitor customer orders, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping to ensure company standards for safety, security, accuracy, and productivity are met.
• Operate required machinery in assigned departments, which may include cherry pickers, reach trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and stock chasers.
• Meet key performance indicators for safety, quality, production, and efficiency.
• Report and record discrepancies, damaged items, shortages, and unidentified packages.
• Maintain required process and procedure audits.
• Train in customer service duties as required.
• Monitor and train new hires to support productivity and quality.
• Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the Distribution Center.
• Follow standard operating procedures, safety rules, and regulations.
• Act professionally and remain focused on contributing to a safe working environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned and be willing to cross-train.
• Provide guidance and direct feedback to team members, ensure proper processes are followed, and address errors promptly.
• Assist with training new and current employees and with upkeep of the Distribution Center.
• Adhere to and enforce the guidelines in the S&S Activewear Employee Handbook.
