About The Position

MedSpeed is hiring a part-time Logistics Service Representative/Medical Driver in Columbus, Ohio. The role involves long-distance driving throughout Ohio, primarily in a company-owned vehicle, to transport medical and healthcare-related materials. Drivers operate a handheld scanning device, follow established operating procedures and service schedules, and represent MedSpeed professionally while working with clients and the public. Route duties and assignments may vary according to client and business needs, and drivers must be able to perform duties across routes to which they may be assigned. The position is scheduled Saturday and Sunday from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM and pays $17.00 per hour. MedSpeed provides training and a company vehicle. Candidates receiving an offer must complete a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required depending on location and local mandates.

Requirements

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Be at least 19 years old and have held an active driver's license for at least 3 years.
Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
Familiarity with and adaptability to technology.
Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely.
Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
Ability to pass initial and random drug and alcohol screening.
Ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
Excellent driving history.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, depending on location and local mandates.
Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to handle varying item weights and physical demands, including lifting items off storage racks.
Comfort walking long distances and standing for long periods.
Complete a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Safely drive a company-owned vehicle to transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials.
Use a handheld scanning device to accurately track items through the transportation cycle.
Strictly follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
Present a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interaction.
Load and unload company vehicles using appropriate equipment.
Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain a clean, neat, and orderly vehicle.
Perform duties across assigned routes, adapting to changes in routes and client or business needs.
Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
Help build and nurture a collaborative MedSpeed team culture.
