CUSTOMER SERVICE DELIVERY DRIVER/PART-TIME (SAT-SUN)
About The Position
Serve as a brand ambassador by providing excellent customer service while delivering customer orders to their homes. Drive a company delivery vehicle safely and efficiently in accordance with Kroger's driving standards, and demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. This is a part-time position scheduled Saturday and Sunday. The role involves ensuring orders arrive on time and in good condition, communicating with customers while en route, maintaining accurate delivery records, and following food safety and temperature-control procedures. Drivers also inspect their vehicles before use, report defects and product issues, and use company-provided technology for mapping and customer interaction.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must annually pass a DOT-regulated medical exam.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to operate a delivery van and handheld tablet device.
- Must have a good driving record.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED.
- Any delivery driver experience.
- Any customer service experience.
- A chauffeur's license may be required in some states.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service while delivering orders to customers.
- Act as a brand ambassador when discussing Kroger's Seamless Experience and delivery process with customers.
- Maintain professionalism and a high standard of personal presentation when interacting with customers.
- Drive a company vehicle safely and in accordance with Kroger's driving standards.
- Ensure customer orders are delivered on time and in good condition, resolving issues that may occur.
- Communicate with customers while en route about issues or changes to their delivery, following Kroger delivery standards.
- Control and maintain accurate records of customer deliveries.
- Assist fellow drivers who encounter difficulties while making deliveries.
- Keep goods within the correct temperature guidelines and monitor and record temperatures in accordance with food health and safety regulations.
- Handle products safely and in accordance with food safety guidelines; record serious breakages or contamination issues and report them to a supervisor.
- Complete a pre-use inspection of the company vehicle and report defects to a supervisor.
- Operate company-provided technology devices for mapping and customer interaction.
- Perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
