About The Position

We have an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Shipping Supervisor, reporting to the Shipping Manager at our St. George, NB facility. Cooke is a global seafood company with operations in North America, Europe and South America. The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily shipping operations to ensure accurate, timely, and cost-effective delivery of products. This role supervises shipping staff, coordinates with internal departments and carriers, and ensures compliance with company procedures and safety standards and operates on a continental night shift schedule (6:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.)

Requirements

  • Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations
  • Strong knowledge of shipping procedures, documentation, and carrier coordination
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and shipping software
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily shipping activities, including picking, packing, staging, and loading shipments
  • Lead, train, and schedule shipping staff to meet productivity and performance goals
  • Ensure all shipments are accurate, properly documented, and dispatched on schedule
  • Monitor shipping metrics and address delays, errors, or inefficiencies
  • Coordinate with carriers, freight companies, and internal departments
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and company policies
  • Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, damages, or customer complaints
  • Maintain shipping records, reports, and inventory documentation
  • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
