About The Position

POLYWOOD is seeking a 3rd Shift Shipping Supervisor to lead daily shipping operations at its Roxboro, North Carolina facility. The supervisor sets shift priorities, supports and develops team members, and ensures orders are prepared and shipped safely, accurately, and on schedule. The position is on-site and follows a Sunday-through-Thursday overnight schedule. Mandatory Friday overtime is required during peak season, and hours may occasionally need to change for training, meetings, peak periods, or operational needs. The role leads the shipping team; coordinates order staging, picking, packing, loading, and trailer movement; monitors operational performance; and works with Production, Transportation, Maintenance, and other support teams to resolve issues. It promotes workplace safety and shipment quality, supports process improvements, and provides a clear handoff to the next shift. The position involves active work on the warehouse floor around powered equipment, trailers, docks, weather exposure, and changing temperatures. Requirements

3+ years of experience in shipping, warehousing, distribution, manufacturing, or fulfillment.
1+ year of experience leading or supervising a team; equivalent leadership experience may be considered.
Knowledge of shipping processes, warehouse safety, material handling, and productivity expectations.
Strong communication, coaching, problem-solving, and organization skills.
Ability to adjust priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to use operational systems and data to track work and communicate results.
Ability to work Sunday through Thursday, 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Ability to remain active on the warehouse floor around powered equipment, trailers, docks, weather exposure, and changing temperatures.
Flexibility to adjust hours occasionally for training, meetings, peak periods, or operational needs.

Experience with ERP, WMS, or TMS platforms.
Experience with Acumatica, Sabertooth, or ShipHawk.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and support shipping team members throughout the shift.
Set expectations for attendance, productivity, quality, safety, and teamwork; conduct shift-start meetings, provide feedback, and address performance concerns.
Support employee training, onboarding, and skill development; recognize strong performance and build an engaged, accountable team.
Apply company policies and standard work consistently.
Oversee order staging, picking, packing, loading, and trailer movement during 3rd shift.
Translate the operating plan into shift priorities and assign work based on staffing and workload.
Monitor order completion, productivity, shipping accuracy, labor use, and backlog; adjust assignments and priorities as conditions change.
Coordinate with Production, Transportation, Maintenance, and other support teams to resolve operational issues.
Provide the next shift with updates on performance, staffing, equipment, open orders, and follow-up needs.
Promote a safety-first culture and ensure team members follow PPE, equipment-operation, pedestrian-safety, dock, trailer, and housekeeping requirements.
Confirm shipments meet customer, carrier, packaging, documentation, and quality requirements.
Report incidents and near misses, help identify root causes, and follow through on corrective actions.
Keep work areas organized and support safe, efficient movement of products and materials.
Use shift results and operational data to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities.
Hold the team accountable for daily expectations while providing coaching and support; help solve recurring problems and improve consistency across shifts.
Support process, system, layout, equipment, and automation improvements, reinforcing new processes through training, standard work, and follow-up.
