About The Position

The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing shipping and receiving operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, and coordinating timely, cost-effective transportation of finished goods. This role leads the Shipping/Receiving team while maintaining operational standards, accuracy, and alignment with plant KPIs and safety requirements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of shipping experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience coordinating with carriers, logistics providers, and customers
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience required
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability with a solution-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel required); ERP experience preferred
  • Forklift experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience interpreting engineered drawings
  • Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing and 5S practices

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Shipping/Receiving staff, including hiring, scheduling, performance management, and corrective actions
  • Plan and execute daily shipping activities to meet operational KPIs and deadlines
  • Oversee inventory accuracy, including daily transaction reviews, cycle counts, and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with Enterprise Shipping Manual standards and procedures
  • Coordinate shipping schedules, load configurations, and transportation details with Sales and Customer Service
  • Manage yard operations and inventory movement, including off-site storage
  • Maintain accurate inventory through timely processing of RGAs, PPRs, and cycle counts
  • Oversee procurement of shipping-related consumables, including vendor selection and cost management
  • Lead annual physical inventory audits
  • Support and promote LEAN and 5S initiatives within the department
  • Ensure adherence to all Health & Safety policies and actively promote a safe work environment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Plant Manager or Corporate Logistics Manager
