Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of shipping and receiving experience in a lead or supervisory role
  • Proficient computer skills required – Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Famous experience, a plus
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Provides direction and coordinates the activities of workers responsible for picking products and preparing them for same-day shipping both nationally and internationally.
  • Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments, and ensures items are prepared for shipment.
  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve the efficiency of workers.
  • Examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Enforces the proper maintenance and record keeping of forklifts, coolers, and other equipment used by the Shipping Department.
  • Manages all employees and is responsible for performance throughout operational hours.
  • Monitors all cash sale transactions and ensures all currency is accounted for every day.
  • Determines space availability in coolers to ensure proper management of inventory.
  • Assists workers performing office clerk duties, shipping, and receiving activities.
  • Determines, as per Famous, which orders are required to be shipped.
  • Ensures employees are preparing future orders as designated by Famous.
  • Performs department reports on a weekly basis and informs upper management personnel of any changes.
  • Requires that all safety procedures be followed by employees.
  • Reports any unsafe acts that occur within the facility.
  • Maintains departments ISO procedures and work instructions up to date.
  • Oversees warehouse inventory accuracy and management throughout the department.
  • Responsible for on-site safety, environment, health, and site security.
  • Accepts the supervisory role as it is intended, including the ability to lead, motivate, and instill confidence and cooperation among the employees.
  • Performs various tasks outside his/her job description.
