About The Position

The Kennedy Group, an Inovar Packaging Group company, is seeking an experienced and motivated Shipping/Receiving Supervisor to lead our shipping operations. This role is responsible for supervising shipping associates, ensuring accurate and timely shipment of products, maintaining compliance with company and carrier requirements, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong organizational skills, proven team management experience, and a commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years of shipping/warehouse experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role
  • Knowledge of shipping practices, freight carriers, and ERP/warehouse management systems
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, ERP systems a plus)
  • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and adapt in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Forklift certification and experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily shipping operations, ensuring orders are prepared, packaged, and shipped accurately and on time.
  • Lead, train, and coach shipping associates, promoting a safe, efficient, and team-oriented work environment.
  • Monitor workload and assign tasks to meet production and customer delivery deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and carrier requirements.
  • Partner with warehouse and production teams to coordinate material flow and resolve issues quickly.
  • Maintain accurate shipping records and oversee ERP/system transactions for shipments.
  • Support inventory control activities, including cycle counts and reconciliation of shipping discrepancies.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and cost savings.
