We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Shipping Supervisor to lead daily shipping operations and ensure the timely, accurate, and compliant movement of domestic and international shipments. This role is responsible for supervising shipping personnel, coordinating logistics activities, maintaining export compliance, and driving continuous improvement within warehouse and shipping processes. The ideal candidate will have strong international shipping experience, leadership capabilities, and working knowledge of global transportation regulations, export documentation, and ERP systems within a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of shipping/logistics experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or team lead experience.
  • Strong international shipping experience required.
  • Working knowledge of export compliance regulations and international documentation requirements.
  • Experience coordinating international freight shipments via air, ocean, and ground transportation.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and shipping software.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms, HTS classifications, and customs procedures.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily shipping activities for domestic and international orders.
  • Lead, train, and support shipping team members to ensure productivity, accuracy, and safety standards are met.
  • Ensure all shipments are prepared, packaged, labeled, and documented in compliance with customer requirements and international trade regulations.
  • Coordinate shipments with freight carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal departments.
  • Prepare and review export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, AES filings, and other required international shipping documents.
  • Monitor shipping schedules to ensure on-time delivery and resolve shipping delays or transportation issues proactively.
  • Maintain compliance with import/export regulations, hazardous materials requirements, and company policies.
  • Manage relationships with carriers and negotiate freight services when applicable.
  • Track shipping metrics, inventory movement, and transportation costs to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with production, planning, customer service, and warehouse teams to support operational goals.
  • Maintain accurate records within ERP (Syteline) and shipping systems.
  • Enforce workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized shipping area.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce shipping errors.
